Better With Age!

Old and weather beaten items are becoming increasingly popular and trendy! What used to be shabby is now shabby chic and old junk is now categorized as vintage. One of my favorite new trends is aged vases and pots. But different and unique items are difficult to find (and even harder to find at a good price). Instead, try making your own aged Terra-cotta pots!

You will need:
~Terra-cotta pots (found at Michals or other craft or garden stores)
~Lime powder (can be found at most garden centers)
~Paintbrush
~Plastic spray bottle
~Sandpaper

Steps:
1. Stir 1 cup lime powder into 2 cups water until it takes on a thick gravy-like consistency
2. Brush the solution onto the pot with more on some places and less on others
3. When the pot is completely covered (and still wet) spray some areas of the pot with water ( with nozzle set on stream) Allow some of the lime solution to run off.
4. Let the pot dry then sand the surface in a random pattern until satisfied with the look of your pot.
5. Plant flowers and enjoy!
